Rawalpindi cantonment areas have started receiving additional 2.4 million gallons of water daily (MGD) under its quota from Khanpur Dam.
RCB spokesman Qaiser Mehmood said: “Dedicated and untiring team efforts of RCB resulted in increase of 2.4 MGD water to the existing nine MGD in the main supply line from Sangjani water filtration plant.”

The additional water would augment water sources to fulfill the demand of residents of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board areas, including Dhamial, Tahli Mohri, Dheri Hassanabad, Jhanda Chichi and Dhoke Chiraghdin falling in Chaklala Cantoment Board domain are also included in the beneficiary areas.
The net increase of 26pc in existing water supply system would resolve complaints of water shortage in Rawalpindi and Chaklala cantonments.
